I tried to leave cliches as far behind as possible. (Semi-nude) women, angels, devils, black, white, light & darkness; all of that has been among my first cues when thinking about the concept of 'Good vs Evil'.
That's all very nice, because it means that those are the things everyone thinks of, and they may be thrown out before paper meets pencils. The attempt to break away from these ideas and discover new, original, definitions of quite a common concept meant just that little bit more to me than just drawing the first thing that I could come up with.
If I hadn't, this would've been a hellish fallen angel vision, and the artist would have gotten no step further with skills and imagination. Now however, she has spend time on an enjoyable piece for her gallery, learned to draw and paint details, to actually think before going to work, and most of all, challenge herself to improve.
So what's the vision on Good vs Evil here? Well... there is no versus, not when I bring my visions to life. They work on one and the same image, but they do not conflict; they create harmony. Weaving their lines they create a balance without disturbing the other. Yes, their creations might hinder, disturb, seek to destroy one another, but they themselves do not. It is their sole duty to draw what they are expert in, then see how their creations respond on one another. Simple, pure.
I had great enjoyment in making this image. It's a pencil sketch scan with brushed colorings, done with an ages old A6 knockoff NGS pentablet. Please click the download button for a 1240 x 877 resolution.
Hahaha, en dan te bedenken dat de sneak eigenlijk heel erg anders begon dan dat het nu is. Had ik zelf eigenlijk niet verwacht, maar dat is het leukste!
Fav+, really great work. Love the grainy effect and the apparently 'unfinished' corner in the lower left. Those two little guys in the middle are a great little detail as well, by the way.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
